Not having a job can be a huge burden on someone’s life and can lead to a wide range of social problems for them and others.

That’s why Social Enterprise Solutions is passionate about supporting people when they want to start their own business or when they need a hand finding work.

Much of the time, we help people to understand what enterprise and social enterprise is all about. We usually secure funding from the government, National Lottery or Europe so there is no cost to the person getting the support.

Equally, we have great links with private business and well-placed to arrange short-term work placements, internships, work tasters and support people while they find their feet.

On one project, we arranged placements across the North West for 175 people under the Future Jobs Fund and on another JobCentre Plus asked Social Enterprise Solutions to arrange 200 work experience posts for a group of longterm unemployed people.

And we’re not afraid to try new approaches. Working with Blackpool’s Radio Wave, we advertised the skills of four unemployed people on the radio and all four got job offers from local companies.
