Local Authority Partnering

The mission of Social Enterprise Solutions is “to promote and encourage urban and rural regeneration through enterprise support and development”. In particular, we believe that social enterprise represents a force for good and needs to be encouraged and developed for the future benefit of towns and cities. SES can provide assistance to Local Authorities on how to go about strengthening and promoting their social enterprise culture and maintaining a sustainable Third Sector that supports their residents.

It is increasingly recognised that social enterprise is a force for good and a model for better and more sustainable business. It is also recognised that social impact needs to be permanently embedded in procurement practices.

We continue to work closely with our local authority partners to deliver the best outcomes for their residents and we can assist in a number of ways:

  • Work closely with LA’s to develop socially innovative new ideas to meet social needs
  • Provide training to public sector staff to understand the social enterprise sector more fully with examples of sustainable and effective social enterprises across the UK
  • Provide assistance to promote the social enterprise business model in your town or borough
  • Assistance with the change of management of land or buildings from public bodies to community and voluntary sector groups

Social Enterprise Solutions has been a leading member of our national infrastructure support organisation since 2008 and they have directly contributed to the development of SEUK in a number of ways; director, Clive Hirst, continues to provide a valuable contribution in his voluntary capacity as a council member. In addition, SES has developed a Social Enterprise Town concept collaboratively with Liverpool Hope University, ourselves and other key partners.

We would consider SES as responsible thought leaders in the development of the social enterprise sector
